About

Diaa Asha

UX Designer. Medical background.

My Story

I trained as a doctor first.
Six years taught me to work
under uncertainty, listen carefully,
and think in systems.
Those three habits
work on interfaces too.

Product design felt like a bigger canvas for the same habit: observe carefully, separate symptoms from causes, and test before assuming. Same reflex, wider reach.

These days I work on products end-to-end: user research, system maps, interface design, and browser prototypes built with AI-assisted code.

Philosophy

Diagnose before you design.

I approach design like an investigation: observe, hypothesize, test, revise. It cuts through "I think the button should be blue" conversations and anchors decisions in evidence.

AI isn't a replacement for thinking — it's leverage. The interfaces worth building keep the person in the loop while the model carries the rest.

Timeline

How I got here

2024

Switched into product

Wrapped up Yale psychology coursework and spent the rest of the year figuring out why UX was where I belonged.

2025

Getting the credentials out of the way

Google UX Design Professional Certificate, Microsoft Azure AI Essentials, GenAI for UX Designers, Figma Essential Training. Useful scaffolding; the learning happened in production.

2026

Building in public

ALY, Resume Tailor, Linkshot. Freelancing out of Amman, moving faster from product intent to working browser prototypes.
